The timing has to do with the effic. of the head chamber design. The more effic. the chamb. the less timing will be needed. Also the type of met. alows more timing as it deals with heat diff. but alot of argument can be given to the fact that most Alum. heads have a CNC'd chamber.
I dont think there is much diff. in chamb. design THAT much for most of the popular pushrod alum. heads, more CNC that cleans up the sharp edge's that also lead to pinging. Most seem to run 33-37* or so N/A that I have seen.
For giggles I was looking at a 4.6 cobra eec file on the tweecer software and they run like 10* of timing...now that is a bit diff. head than the pushrod heads. I always wonderd' what they tend to run with a tune N/A?
Isnt it something like hit your peak tq with the most timing then go down slightly? like grn92lx has?
