Hey Guys,
I bought a streetdamper thinking it was "decent" one, but now that I've had to scribe the timing marks to match the stock one, then installed it and it seats 1/2 further inbound and the pulleys don't line up, I'm pitching it. What dampers are you guys running, and was amy type of spacer required? I would like to get one that the timing marks match stock and have it seat properly. This build is starting to tax my patience. Please advise.
Thanks, vann

Thanks GRN92LX, where did you buy it? I just checked Summit & Jegs and neither one carries Romac. I also have the fidanza aluminum fly going on.

ive, got an ATI superdampner. It's for a 0 balance, has timing marks around the whole balancer and no spacers required. Its also one of the lightest balancers avalable and rebuildable if you send it to ATI.

I like the alum outer hub Romas as well, but if your looking at just a nice SFI steel damper the Pioneer "Race model" is nice, Summit does carry them.

It sounds like your old dampner required a spacer to put the pulley in the correct postion, the Professional Products and Ford Racing balancers also require the spacer.

Thank you for the reply Rick. Previously I had stock shortblock with FMS damper. I now have a Fordstrokers shortblock. I did order the pro products damper and spacer from woody today.

i have a motorsport balancer that i bought years ago. without a weight it 0 balance, ive got both the 28 and 50 oz weights for it to. its not the lightest, and its not the best im sure. but its versitile and has worked for me for about 10 years on JY motors to motors with $2300 cranks.
