351 conversion kit

351 windsor conversion kit question! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Is there any place that sells a complete 302- 351w conversion kit?
all That i know of it needing would be a oilpan, oilpick, new headers (can u reuse H pipe? ) different flywheel, and different belt.
any info is much appreciated, especially links to where i can buy it all

Shorty headers will work on a 351 or a 302. If you use 302 headers on a 351, your exhaust has to be about 1.5 inches higher (longer) to make up the difference. Swap headers do that for you without modifying the exhaust. LT headers range in the 350-$500 range for 351 swap. Dont know why so much.

www.50resto.com has a lot of swap parts. You should request a catolog. Give those guys a call. They are super nice and may be able to offer a bracket kit. I looked in the catalog today and noticed some brackets. They are very cheap.

sounds like you have just enuff info to be dangerous!

have you looked at the intake side of life yet?

302 intakes dont work on a 351- then theres fueling issues, hood clearance depending on set up, distributor/gear, balancer flywheel,-dont jump into this unless you have the info- or lots of cash to waste. :bang: :bang: :bang:

Dude, I really think you are not qualified enough to do this swap. As for the headers, I would think they would get too close to the floor pans because the 351 is raising the height of them, but you can offset that by using the hood clearance engine mounts that lower that engine an inch to clear the hood. Again, the intake must be for a 351. If your intake is then it will fit but probably not under a stock hood. Thats too much intake for that engine anyways. Your going to have a horrible combo with the way things are going. What ever happened to your engine with the bent pushrods?

salty - you can use a shorty header - it will bolt on the 351 head and the collector will sit an area that's fine. But because the deck height of the 351 is a little over an inch taller than a 302, the place the collector sits will be a little over an inch higher -- which means your old h-pipe won't work. So - use the stock style shorty header, and your h-pipe will have to be altered.
