I have a 347 with re-worked 351W heads. I dont know if it will be better to port/polish the 351 heads or go with stock 185 AFR heads, or to get the ported 185 heads. Any clue on power rating for the three applications?
351 ported-
185 AFR stock-
185 AFR ported-
I dont go to the track, just a daily driver with some power.

You realise that the 351 heads are basically old school gt-40's, so ported the might flow what the stock 185 will, if you get the right head man.

347 and heads...

Ported 351W heads will yeild solid mid 11's .. and that is with stock valve sizes and no worry about the piston to valve interface!! all the rest is money, for the .3 to .6 lower ETs.. IF that is the goal to run low 11's N/A and loose a bit of the snap off the line or street lite traffic.. then the larger cc intake runners are the way to go.. oh yeah.. there is a bit of money differance along with all the "Other stuff" you will need to make the aftermarket heads work....!

Ported AFR 185's might flow alot and be good for high rpm power but not good for a daily driver. Were talking about a 347.
Stock 185's are good and would work good as your combo grows a supercharger or turbo.
Ported 351's are cool too because you can save alot of cash.
I would personally go with the ported 351's for a daily driver.
This is of course 'My opinion'...PB
