Actually does anyone know where to find a good build thread, I search many time and all the ones I find are 20 posts tops, and don’t actually get into the build itself

You could google my “Daddywagon!” I have a couple of build threads out there. It is a 351w swap into a foxbody.

I would feel a lot more comfortable with a built 351W.
302 had about 150K miles with trickflow heads, cam and intake. My kids drove it and pushed it to the limit. Lower end of motor blew apart. Crank split in 2 and block had a crack in the lifter gallery above the cam which ran the length of the cam. This is how those blocks are known to fail. Not sure which went first the block or the crank.
Put 94 351W in from a truck with TF heads and a blower. Never put on Dyno but estimate around 500 HP. Supposedly 351W block stock rotating assembly good for at least 800HP. If you are going to adapt a blower or turbo would help if you had access to a machine shop unless you can find a direct bolt on assembly.
As noted above had to change oil pan, headers, flywheel, damper pulley, distributor and intake. Also need a taller hood to fit it in. Watch out for high volume aftermarket oil pan, it hit the steering rack so I had to put spacers between block and motor mounts. Polyurethane mounts sagged over time so I put in solid mounts.

.

So I went to the junk yard today I found a 351 out or a 1996 f250. Pulled it and only cost $180. Roller block also

S C O R E! Not only is that a roller block, It has a roller cam. When I put together my engine I had to buy the correct length pushrods and use the lifters and dogbones and spider out of a 5.0 mustang. You just eliminated all that extra stuff I had to find... especially the pushrods.

I plan on taking the block to the machine shop in the next few weeks. This is my first time doing an all out build, what all should I have done?

All the standard stuff, crack check, line hone, cam bearings installed, bore .030 if building a stroker, mill if needed.
Any competent machinist should know what's needed, let them know what your planning to build.

Thats a huge score. Looks like a Jasper. Check around the sides of the block for round tags that look like nickles. Usually, on a freeze plug or water galley area outside if block. Its their way of telling if the block has been overheated.

If it isn't rebuilt thats a clean dang engine...and new egr valve.
