Hey Folks,

I am not going to be another "how do I build 500hp for cheap" thread.

Here is my situation: I have a 2v 351 Cleveland that I would like to build to be a nice streetable car. The engine is a runner, but it needs a rebuid from the bottom up. I would like to add a bit of performance to it above stock, and obviously get as much out of it as I can without going nuts on it.

Here is what I have: 2v heads, Edelbrock Performer 2V intake, Edelbrock 650-700 (I think) 4v carb, Hooker 1 3/4" long tube headers. I would like to use these components. My question is, with a decent cam to match these components, how am I looking for power? Any guesses? Also, if I was going to put a bit more into beyond that, what would the next step be?

Budget is looking like this at the moment:

$400 rebuild kit- eBay. I have had good luck with RedLine kits on several other rebuilds.
$200 Crane Cams- Partly I like the name....hmmm....wonder why. If they have something that will be a good fit great- if not oh well I will get something else.
$??? Machine work- I know this is pricey.

So that is where I am at. Thanks!
