Help, my exhaust manifolds had leaks. when i removed the manifolds the new gaskets and the old ones did not line up to cover port openings. I know the engine has been modified to a 4bbl and cam but how do I get the gaskets I need. Do I take the manifolds to a speed shop to try matching. And a better question is what do I have under the hood?

Thanks Alan L

You said the engine has been modified to 4bbl. Clevelands had two styles of heads. 4bbl and 2bbl. If you have 2bbl heads and got 4bbl exhause gaskets, they won't fit. The heads are easily identified. They have a 2 or 4 cast in the corner by where the valve cover bolts on. There are 4bbl intakes available for 2bbl heads. So it sounds like you might have 4 bbl gaskets on a 2bbl head or the other way around.

What he said. If you still have the 2V heads, you need to use the 2V gaskets.

The heads are stamped 4, so it must have been mod to after market intake and carb. that were 4bbl.

How about posting a nice clear photo of the heads? Then we'd be sure. This is a 2V head. Notice the number is cast in, not stamped.

The gaskets are specific to the heads. Determine which heads you have and get the proper gaskets.

You might try Summit or another source. Parts houses like Checker, Pep Boys etc etc might not list the proper gaskets. The older the car the more the information gets screwed up. I went to get an upper rad hose for my 70 4bbl cleveland. They asked if it was a 2bbl or 4bbl, not if it was a Windsor or Cleveland. I told them 4bbl and ended up with a hose for the Windsor. Got the 2bbl hose and it was correct for the Cleveland.

gaskets too small

Thanks everyone, the problem is the look up out of date . I've had my parts guy for 25yrs. He had to go to the book to look up the correct listing. The computor only lists 351C or W not 2 or 4bbl. Also my VIN code is H so I also started wrong. I do have 4bbl heads. so I need to check block #'s to see what I have, or the prev. owner swapped heads or whole motor.

Thanks again till my next roadblock ALAN L

Bet he's glad he kept the old books. The computers are only as good as the person who entered the information. I guarantee they are not car people. Probably some dude in India.
