351c MSD wiring help

well im in a bit of a situation with my 73mach got the motor in and ready to fire in the car. but im having trouble wiring her up again. puting msd in with a 6al box with blaster 2 coil with msd dist. problem im having is taping into the old harness and geting the car to turn over. got most everything wired up but i still got nothin. do i need a ballest resitor hooked up with MSD? i got the msd hooked in right where she needs to be and fuel pump is working but wont crank.
ps any pics of your engine bay with wiring hooked up will help. got a bad harnes with duraspark so its F-up.

What would the MSD have to do with it cranking?

It just gives it fire, has nothing to do with whether or not it`ll turn over. At least in my case it didnt, can you post pics of battery to starter connections maybe?

And if you have a firewall mounted solanoid, have you tried "jumping" across it to try and kick it over?

ya i went back out today to try and figure it out. i was looking at engine pics from before but not much luck. i got the fuel pump working and a + wire from the key and hooked that one to the msd box like i needed. then tryed it and all of a suden i got no power to that wire now. im hoping i didnt blow up my msd box. is there a simple way of hooking it up to juts run cause all i want to do is start the motor. i got the msd hooked up right but no crank.. my main problem i think is the starter solanoid. it has power on the batter side but cant get power to the other side of it. what kind of wires do i need on the little posts non that i have on right now got and juice. im so lost ill try to post pics my harness is junk its hard to find what goes where. went to cross the starter solanoid and sparked alot my dad did it before the key was on. right no i have no baalst rest. so is that it?

Try looking up your set up on the MSD site and going through the connections to verify they are right.

When you turn the key...if the motor doesn't crank...it has nothing to do with the MSD.

Check to make sure the selonoid is working.

ok been trying to figure my mess out and on the starter sol. the two small post do they need power from the key? i have no juice to either right now bad ground? also does the block ground by the firewall need to be hooked up? thanxs a bunch guys

got it running thanxs for the help guys.i might need a new screw driver time im done. crossing the starter sol. kinda welded it a bunch of times but motor sounded realy healthy but couldnt run for long cause no coolant so didnt want to over heat it so got it started just enough to wear off the pre winter sit period.
