Wouldn't a refreshed 351w with good flowing 11r heads, blower friendly cam, quality intake with a centri blower pushing about 14psi get this guy in the 500+ rwhp range? A boosted 393 combo seems like overkill for a "family friendly" street car. You'll build it up just to tame it down. Only upside I see about the boosted 393" engine is if you ever remove the supercharger you'd be left with a sweet and powerful NA engine.

lol i saw you say you were going to run a holley system, i was going to suggest the lesser of the two systems since your not running boost. Then i saw that you are going to do a carb swap, this makes me sad....

Some do it with a screw driver, some do it with a lap topLol and originally I wasn’t going carb. But I like learning and doing new things so I figured ill do Carb and if im not comfortable or whatever the case may be. Ill will change things up.
I ran a carburetor for years. It performed well but the driveability is so much nicer with efi. Everytime the temperature changes the carb will hasve to be adjusted. To convert to carb correctly will cost but not as much as converting to factory style efi.
Before i spent 600 on a carburetor I'd spend 1k on a stand alone efi system. This one supports up to 650hp.
Yeah, I did some research on the the carb style efi kits and it seems to be a vacuum issue with large cams.Warning I have read many people having drivability issues with the sniper kits and large cams.

Run a street friendly cam comp, bullet, EDC, freezy, ect can grind you a cam for the cost of a good shelf cam. It's a no brainer just make sure they know what you need, no reason in this day and age to give up streetability. Will you lose some peak power, sure but you will enjoy the car more.

Why 393 when the 408 kits are reasonable?
Honestly, no real reason. I just know it’s fairly easy to stroke 351 to 393. I havnt looked into the 408ci. Are you running a 408? Curious to know about it.
Why give up the extra cubes?
The block machining is the same for both.
The 408 has a lighter piston and better connecting rod.
Seems like a better build.
