I have a 351W, with GT-40 heads, a GT-40 lower and Cobra upper. Right now, it has a stock 94 Lightning cam in it. How much of an advantage would it be to put in an X303 cam?? I can get one for $100. Is that, plus the cost of putting in roller lifters worth the change?

The rest of the parts are for sure going on the car, I just need opinions about the cam selection.

Thanks

Nope, the Lightnings (Gen1, 351W) all came w/ flat tappet cams, although they blocks are ready for a roller cam.

I'm only thinking about this cam swap because I can do it for around $100. Next year, the motor is getting knocked out to a 393, new heads, intake, and custom cam at that time.

Thanks

then IMO i'd wait. buy the time you bought the cam, lifters, gaskets, fluids, and time to do it, I'm not sure I would bother if you have bigger plans in the near future. And i would not use the x cam in the 393.
