351W intake

As always, a search would have been worth while...

Your options are truck intake, TF Box R, Performance Products AKA Edelbrock knock off, and Edelbrock. I think Holley has one too... You can go with a carb style EFI intake also...Spyder I think is the name...

Where did you hear that the spyder was no longer in production?

I'm planning to run one in my 408w......

The thing is, with proper cam and head selection, the total package should work just fine.
What are you considering for heads and cam?

Call CHP there is no more Spyder intake. However I am thinking about making me one with a Victor JR carb lower and a Spyder intake elbow.

Heads I am going to run Twisted Wedge CNC 205s and the cam will be custom. All I need to do is figure out which intake would be best for what I want.

Well,
If you are getting a custom cam, then let the cam designer decide what intake will work best with your setup.
Don't limit the cam designer to some parts you selected based on internet 'opinions'....
Let him optimize your setup and make recommendations based on your goals/buildsheet.

Have you decided who you want to go with?

I am running a eddy super vic jr efi with a spyder elbow. Custom comp cam.. I can tell u that the car pulls like hell all the way to 7k. It doesn't however have a ton of torque till u hit 3700 or so. not such a big prob for me as I have a 3500 stall and a 4r70 gearset in the trans. So it matches my combo pretty good.

I can tell u my efi spyder elbow quality is crap compared to the similar eddy pieces that are just now becomming avail. i actually have to get my elbow re machined as it is warped (from the factory) on the gasket suface that meets the lower.

Just my 2 cents.

BTW the eddy is already matched perfectly to a fel pro 1250 intake as were my heads so that was a very easy install. The efi spyder elbow fits up to a 90 mm tb, but if u use a 75, trim off the round part of the gaskets that is not needed, ask me how i know.... :D

Does Edelbrock make an Elbow so I don't have to buy a pos CHP product? :notnice:

Yes edelbrock has 3-elbows available, part#s 3847(ultra low profile)3848(low profile),and 3849. I run the 3849 on my 410w along with a edelbrock super vic. intake. We did have to modify it to fit under my 3'' hood however. We took about a 1-1/2'' out of it to fit under the hood. here is a pic.

yes, all three should be avail by now. When I put mine together 2 months ago, I couldn't get my hands on an eddy piece to save my life. I can tell u that with the chp I barely clear with a 3.5 inch cobra r hood. The eddy piece (the middle one) has to have a 1 inch spacer if ur using eddy rails to make the tb clear.

Good luck.

I am wanting to fit the intake under a 1.5" hood. More than likely I would have to go with the 3847 (pic below) to fit under the hood. However it looks like it would have MAJOR issues with even airflow to the runners. HOWEVER I am going to be using the Zex nitrous plate so that will add 1"-1.5" to it. Hmmmm  Wonder how I could figure out if it would work short of buying the parts and sending them back if they don't fit.

Thats what I did, I bought a 3847 with a 1'' carb spacer (from summit) to test fit
and didnt like it at all, it has a real long neck on it and it put the throttle body almost
into the shock tower. So I packed it up and sent it right back to summit(they are real good about returns).
