Hey Guys, whatz up. It been awhile since I've posted, question is what is a stronger more powerful block, 351W, LT1, LS1, meaning which one can hold and produce more power. For instance, if bored plus H/C/I you know all the trimming. Survay says .......... All info invited.:SNSign:

Either lt1 or ls1, not sure which one though. I'll go with lt1.

lol LT1...

I'd say LS1, they seem to be built for that, but for the most part 351's are nothing to laugh at either.

Why would you laugh at lt1. He's asking what block is the strongest, so I'm assuming this means with a bottom end that can handle as much as the block, and seeing how an lt1 block is just an iron sbc block, what's to laugh at??

I would say the Ls1 block. They should be able to handle alot more power due to the 4 bolt mains when I think the other 2 blocks have 2 bolt main caps.

I didn't know if the lt1 is 4 bolt or 2 bolt main, I would think 4 bolt, but maybe it's only 2. The ls1 is actually 6 bolt main, it has 4 top bolts like a normal 4 bolt, and 2 on the sides. Either way, I've seen both ls1 blocks, and iron sbc's over 1000hp.

Ls1 will take more abuse than the other motors w/o splitting the block. Not saying you can't make some serious power w/ any of em though, but the ls1 is the latest and one of the greatest designs, no question. Only thing I hate about em is every one of the owners think it's gods chosen motor and they can't be beaten. Just about as bad as SRT4 owners.

the aluminum block isnt that great. all the LS1 guys that are into boost and making serious power are swapping out the aluminum block for the cast iron 6.0L truck block.
btw my LS1 is god's chosen motor and it can't be beaten

I see a few 6.0 iron block in ls1s, but I see a lot of stock blocks in the 500rwhp range.

I wouldnt push a stock block over 500, it can be done, but I like the piece of mind that when I push that y trim over 25 psi the block will still be in one piece.

Chances are he would not...if we are talking stock. A h/c/i, bored and blown should make 500rwhp no problem.

depend on the combo on each car. If they make the same power, then whatever car has more power under the curve and is light will win. Its really hard to compare unknown h/c/i small blocks with power adders.
