Hey guys wanting to know if any one has any info on this svo block. I have a full rotating assembly for a 351w with c mains to make a 408. This block is going for 1k. Says it's all stock bore. I read something about some of these being dry sump, that would steer me away if so. My pistons are 30 over.
What's the max horsepower limit on these ? Would I just be better off getting a boss block ? I like to run 10s. Thanks in advance.

I think i have this in a couple of older Ford Motorsport parts catalogs. I'll see if i can pull up the listing later.

Not seeing anything about dry sump for it, and seem to see conflicting into as to max HP. I have seen 800ish HP quoted a bit.

Let me see if i can dig up the actual Ford Motorsport catalog page.

Thank you man ! I appreciate it
I cant find anything online. The guy doesn't know if it's 9.5 or 9.2 My intake is for a 9.5 deck. I see that two of them only go .030 over. Meaning my pistons would max the bore out if it's the same.

Reading those bullet points, does that mean it needs a special SVO crankshaft with the smaller journals? ...or just a 351C crankshaft? It's been a LONG time since I've looked at 351C specs, but I vaguely remember them having the same bore spacing.

I'm not sure i would read into that page too much just yet. I'm not 100% sure any of those engines listed apply. I'm still doing some digging in my spare time.

The G351 can be made into wet sump, but they didn’t come that way initially.

Those blocks can be pushed into 4 digit hp levels and survive.

A newer style block would be a better investment, unless the G block is cheap

I got him down to 1k. Wondering if it's worth it or not ? What does it take to make it a wet sump?
You gotta also remember that it’s a 9.2 deck height block, and the intake situation can be tricky as there aren’t a lot of 9.2 intakes floating around anymore. I’d honestly recommend you get a newer boss block, or a dart block if looking to make big power. Only way I’d recommend going with the G block is if I came with an intake or you already had one.

from what i see its a 9.2 deck solid rail wet sump block, with its iron caps, it should be good for 700-750hp & if the caps are upgraded to 4 bolt steel it should be good for 1200hp

some don't know the original/grandfather to todays svo blocks were the 1966-69 9.2" 351w XE 93532 iron & alum race blocks...

also forgot to mention Ford SVO had plans for 8.7" & 9.7" deck svo blocks, but they did not catch on with the public at that time.
