Engine 351W year to year changes?

I’ve just bought a 351W out of a ‘97 f250 and I plan on rebuilding it before swaping it into my ‘78 Ghia. I’ll be converting it to a carbureted setup and front sump. My question is, what parts changed throughout the years of the 351w’s production and what’s interchangeable? Also, if im changing it to a carburetor, could I use a gasket kit meant for an older 351W ?

I too am contemplating a 351 swap and I can tell you with ten min of searching you can find A LOT of threads about this, half of them will come from this site. There are some pretty comprehensive lists out there. Good luck.

Like a swap pan? I thought the 302 pan doesn't fit a 351

Might have to modify the 351 to fit the m2 rack and crossmember
