My 3650 in my 01 is starting to shift hard. It started to be noticeable with the stock shifter, and has gotten worse in the past two weeks since I installed the short shifter. (Leverage thing I guess) Well, first and reverse are the worst. I was planning on getting an firewall adjuster, cable, quad blah blah blah. I am thinking about doing it sooner (like tonight). I am hoping this helps some. I have been told it should get rid of the problem.

Anyway, my main question is "what are y'alls opinions on this kit by steeda?"

I am going to go after work and pick one up.

I went cheap and got the UPR quadrant & firewall adjuster. Most all quadrants have the same ramp profile as stock, but they feel firmer because they're made of aluminum instead of plastic. The real benefit comes with the installation of the firewall adjuster. The Fiore is supposed to be a quality piece too.

How old is your tranny fluid and what brand is it?

Not sure to be honest with you. I just got the car 2 months ago, and have not changed it. The car has 48k on it.

I was thinking about changing it out this weekend with Royal Purple. What's your take?

I'm not a big fan of RP products personally, I run Mobil 1 synthetic ATF in my T56. Do you know where this 3650 came from originally? Was it pulled from another car, or bought through an aftermaket company?

It's the original tranny that came with the car.

Sorry... For some strange reason I was reading 3650, but thinking T56! You do know that these 3650's are famous for being hard to shift. If you do a search you'll find all sorts of people who've had problems with them.

Oh yeah. It has always been hard to shift. However it is to the point where I have to literally yank on the shifter to go in to reverse at times. First has to be slammed in. My girlfriend can not even get it in reverse sometimes. JUst seems a little to hard YKWIM?

3650

I have owned 3 cars with the 3650 and the only thing I have ever come up with to make me happy with the transmission was adding an MGW short shifter and using RP fluid..it works..trust me.
