3650 tranny problem

Ive got an 04 gt with 19k on it. Recently started power shifting in it to get better track times. Ive probably powershifted 8 or 9 times ever. The problem is when Im in gear and driving I can move my shifter left,right,up and down. Whichever direction its about a centimeter in length. So If im pushing the shifter to the right while in gear in would move 2 centimeters if I pushed it to the left. The shifter is not broken becuase I switched it out with the pro 5.0 and it did the same thing. What could be wrong? Sycros? Something broken in the tranny? Any ideas?

My shifter has a lot of slack when I put it in 3rd. It moves up/down, left/right.

The 3650 is crap. If it shifts without grinding, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

That's funny. My shifter does not wiggle at all in gear. I have an MGW shifter and i can get 1/8" each direction if i try hard enough..but that's it

I believe I encountered a similar problem a couple years ago on my 01 GT /w the 3650. Upon inspection, I found out that the bolts on my tri-ax shifter were loose so I tightened them and the problem disappeared. I hope that helps.
