I was wondering the same thing, because I don't want to rock stockers with a 5.0 and some people tell me 4:10's and others say 3:73s. Which are better street gears? 3:73s?

Expand on this question. Gears won't give you any horsepower. You will, however, get into the powerband much faster.

The differance at 70mph is only 200rpm or so. I love 4.10s, and I say this as a guy that had 3.73s in the first 10 mustangs that he built.

5th gear 71mph@2400rpm=3.73 gears
5th gear 70mph@2600rpm=4.10 gears
Both are based on stock height tires

Good stuff, so you say 4:10's as opposed to 3:73's?

Shane, have you ever rode in my 90? I can't remember. But it has 3.73's. I should give you a ride sometime.

They are a good ratio.
