Hello, all! I am seriously thinking about doing a 393 stroker but I have a few questions.
1. Where can I get all the brackets to run all of my accessories and what else do I need to do the swap?
2. I already have the Trick Flow heads and I know I will have to hog them out so I'll probably send them to T.E.A. So what type of cam? I really like the match sets so I was thinking Trick Flow stage three?
3. My car is an automatic, yeah I know, but I have a bad left knee. My transmission should hold with no problem according to Coleman Taylor we built it using everything we could think of to make it stronger. What stall speed do you think and what about something like the Baumanator?
4. I already have 4:10's is that too much of a gear? I am thinking that it might be but then again I rarely drive it on the interstate but again if I ever got a wild hair to drive it to Florida is that too much gear?
5. What about reliability? My 347 has been great so far 3 + years and not a single problem.

I know it's a long read.

Thanks guys,
N.F.

Yeah, when I first got the 347 I thought it was going to get away from me the first couple of times but now I can nail it, get it sideways while changing the radio with a Pepsi sitting between my legs.

Looking back I should have just went ahead and do a 393 but this was my first venture in the realm of EFI Mustangs.

I'd get a big cam. The smallest cam I'm considering for my 357" has .56" lift.

Your current brackets will bolt up, but you'll need a longer belt, I'm not sure how long.

It should be just as reliable as what you have now.

What size of fuel injectors do you have now? I would go with 36# or higher.

4.10 gears sound like alot behind a 393. If you want to keep them, I'd go with a stall down around 2500. You'll have plenty of torque, no need to wrap up the motor to get moving....

Just my opinion.......

Edit: you will need other parts for the swap. Oil pan, headers, distributor, intake, etc.

I am pretty sure the Trick Flow Stage three is large enough.

If it will bolt up without any modifications I'll be as happy as a teenage boy on prom night.

I have 24 lbs but you think 36 will work? I was thinking about 30 but they might be a little small?

I already have a 2500 P.I. stall. It would be great if I didn't have to send it back to get it moved.

Thanks for the replies. The more I think the more I think I am going to do it.

Same swap I'm doing dude. Nothing I've seen has steered me away from a 393. From what people on here suggested to me go with a trick flow manifold, and 30-36 pound injectors. I'm going with AFR 205's but I'm sure your trick flows would work good.
