Okay, so I'm about ready to do my 3g install and got one question. When I run my 4gauge wire I dont need to splice it into two wires back at the alternator right?

The two stock charge wires wont be connected to the new alternator. After you make the stator connection, you can insulate and hide the plug which houses the two stock charge wires (the wires will still be hot, so insulate well).

Good luck.

My 3g Alternator is too big for my alt bracket. I got the alt off a taurus. What should I do?

YOu have to cut the bracket to get it to fit. Here is a great thread with any and all info needed.

hmmm, lined up fine on mine.

start the bottom bolt first then rotate alt
up to second one.
You will see where the braket needs to be ground down when
the alt stops rotating.

Look down and behind the alt at where its hitting the braket
draw a little line with marker so you know how much to take off
and grind it out.
Only took me about 10mins

Maybe I got the wrong alt. Cause this one the mounting holes are about an inch farther away from the mounting holes on my old alt.

Try an alternator off a 94/95 5.0 Mustang. Any parts store will sell you a new or rebuilt one that will work fine.
