I did a 3G alt. swap using the OE wiring and when I turn the defroster on or have it in the middle switch ( heat & defrost) my AC kicks in. I spliced the single wire into the unused wiring harness using the wire that looks like it is either white /black or yellow/black...is that the correct wire or should it be connected to the middle wire on the D-plug that is used?

7. Splice the new stator wire with a scotch lock to the small wire on the big electrical plug.............I did this but it seems wrong.

Do not reuse your existing power wires. You need a dedicated 4 gauge wire from the alternator power post to the + side of the starter solenoid with a 125 inline amp. The only wire to re use off that plug is the stator wire. You will use the D shaped regulator plug and wires. Do a search in the technical archives and you will find a write up

I used a PA Performance power wire kit. They have a few different lengths, I can't remember which one I used.

I ran 4 gauge for power, only reused the D-Plug

I got 2 4Guage cables, fuse and fuse holder from Napa for under $30, just need to know which wire the Stator should be hooked to.

OK, found out from another thread how to wire the thing properly but I still have my AC compressor kicking on when I turn the heat selector to mix or defrost. Any idea why this is happening?

I just was told the AC comes on when in Mix or Defrost, didn't know that before..........so hopefully my problems are solved.

That should be true, the AC Compressor should Cycle when you turn the defroster on.
