3rd Brakelight Bulb That Lasts

Has anyone found a third brakelight bulb that actually holds up. A good friend of mine has an older Ford Escort that keeps breaking the filament in his 3 rd brake light. The escort hatch is like a smaller version of the Mustangs. I know the slamming of the hatch is culprit. Does anyone make the equivalent of a drop light rough service bulb, for the brake light. I've looked online, and asked but got nowhere. My 3rd light on my expedition is above tailgate, so it doesn't get the shock hatch backs do. Any ideas?

Get an LED equivalent? The key is finding one bright enough. I've done side by side with my OEM lights and the LED's just weren't as bright, but there are so many vendors making them that some probably do have enough powerful LED's to be bright enough.

I've of no use. My bulbs in my brake lights are at least from 1997

Found out sylvan is zevo has a life time warranty through oreillys. A little pricey at $23.00 a two pack. But if they keep replacing them, it's worth it.

Oh well before 86, we never had the light.

Yeah, but it 2016 and we've had it for 30 years. An entire generation has grown up developing instincts to react to the 3rd brake light coming on.

I know when I get behind a car with malfunctioning brake lights, or a burned out 3rd brake light, I have to pay a little more attention

Ain't that the truth, I used to warn drivers when I noticed a brake light out. These days, unless their windows down, and don't look like an idiot. I don't even bother. I've read a bunch of your posts, but not one said their bulbs made a difference lasting for more than 6 months.
