3V spark plug PICS

I took apart a 2006 Saleen with 6800 miles on it due to a noise from the bottom end..Anyway I just wanted to post the PICS of what it looks like inside the chamber with the head off. Since many people seam to have issues taking the spark plugs out due to carbon build up on the spark plug electrode sleeve.... The pics are blurry sorry ...I hope they give some people an idea of what 3V plug "holes" look like. I threw in one pic of what I found when I tore down the engine...By the way this bent ROD will be fully covered by Saleen's 36000 mile powertrain warranty and they will be sending a longblock with Supercharger...The customer will be very happy...

I have a matching rod... Along with a oil pump driveshaft and a few pushrods.

Any idea what caused the bent rod? I thought the Saleen was very conservative on the tune and psi on these stock engines. I mean that you really don't here of a lot of engine failures unless someone is really pushing the limits of the stock internals or running a crap tune on an FI application.

Saleen and I do not know what caused it. I suspect that the injector malfunctioned at one time,flooded the cylinder and upon start up it bent the rod (hydrolocked).
Saleen suspects that the Supercharger might have leaked coolant into that cylinder so they will be sending a new supercharger along with a complete engine assembly.
By the way NO Codes were in the system. The engine was running very good at idle when it came in!No misfires!Just noisy...

I recently spent some time on the road course at VIR.
Upon my retun home, the car began to misfire. Eventually throwing codes.
I pulled the factory plugs. (much easier to write about than actually do)
The plugs were coated with a black powder, much worse than in the photos above. The amount of carbon buildup is amazing on the sleeve.
I bead blasted them, but still had problems.

Replaced the plugs.... no more misfires!

How many mile on your car? What brand plugs did you install?

How many threads are there for the spark plugs? Is it just like the 2V heads where there are only 2-3 threads holding the spark plug?
