ok guys i just want a little feedback or a lot of feedback on the 4.10's...

i had an 04' GT w/ every bolt on you can think of besides pulley's w/ a tune and i put 3.73 back there...loved it...the launch and the city and freeway drive, was great! so w/ that said all i know is 3.73's are great, i understand that the new mustangs now are way stonger than the 04'GT's, i know that!

this is my set-up now...07'GT, steeda CAI w/ tune, headers, h-pipe w/ flows, i got 18's all the way around w/ 285/35's in the rear...will i run out of gears if i put 4.10's back there...i know i will sling shot out the hole, will the rpm's shoot up faster? will you go through all the gears on a 1/4 mile?

i hope all of this make sense...i would greatly appreciate the ones who truly are running 4.10's right now, to respond!!!

thanks guys

I have the 4.10s in my automatic and absolutely love them! I have the 235/50-18 OEM KDWS on mine all the way around. They are 27.2" tall. I was doing some "on the road" research the other evening to see what my RPMs were at different speeds in 4th and O/D. Here is what I was running... 3250 RPM in 4th=65 MPH, in O/D=88 MPH; 4000 RPM in 4th=77 MPH, in O/D=108 MPH; 5000RPM in 4th=98 MPH and 4500 RPM in O/D=122 MPH(I did not have enough safe room to get up to 6000 RPM in 4th or over 4500 RPM in O/D, so those are still unknowns right now).Your rear tires are 26" tall. That is 1" shorter than factory. That will slightly increase your RPMs, therefore effectively giving you more gear. I'm sure you may have to shift into 4th. I have yet to have mine down the 1/4 mile yet to know what I tach crossing the line.

I haven't been to the track, but from what I know, 4.10's will make you use 4th at the track. That said, there's no downside. The only reason it may affect gas mileage is because you'll want to be playing with it more. But I have had not an iota of a regret.

Yes you will use 4th gear through the 1/4. You will use every bit of it. My car goes throught the 1/8th at 6k in 3rd through the lights. Shift to 4th and drive it out the back door. I have the M/T DR's that are 25.7" tall. So my car actually feels like it might have a 4.30 gear.

thank you guys for all the feedback....if the only negative feedback is gas mileage then i'm sold on 4.10's! $3.44/gal. for 91 octane here CA, so gas issues are everyday thing here...

keep u posted once they are installed!!!
