4.10 gears question

I have an 02 GT 5spd, is the car hard to launch on stock tires with 4.10's? I just got some new aquatread 245/45/17 tires (i don't know the brand, something like Venturi??? got them from Ford) which are same size as stock so there's no way I'm getting new ones since these are a month old. I'm talking on a daily driver that will never race/see the track, is it a pain to launch it from a stop without wider tires?

Not at all! You just need to relearn how to launch. I'm a daily driver w/ 4.10's and Kumho 712 245/45-17's which aren't known for there hooking ability. I can launch alright on them, but haven't hardly practiced at all.

launching isnt a problem at all, its the constant shifting that one must contend with but its a hell of alot more fun to run through the gears with 4.10's

Not wanting to sound like a smart arse, but if your never gonna race it/see the track but want to be launching from a stop on th street that's the wrong place. Get some real tires and take it to the track!

Get the 4.10's. Launching is easy (and fast).

Aight, sounds like 4.10's it is. I guess I should have worded that better, i didn't mean hard launching like you would during a race, just getting the car rolling from a stop.
