Finally got to install the 4:10s today.

What a difference. Will these gears be ok with a procharger?? or will I have to go to 3:73s.

well, everyone says 3.73s for S/C or 4.10s for NA.. but I've seen 4.10s on S/C cars but then again I'm not an expert.. I just wanted to say congrats!

My friend who has put 28k in mods into his engine...recommends that if I go with a S/C that I use 3.73. But out side of his advice, I have no experience with 4.10s nor 3.73 and a S/C. EVERYONE says go with 3.73 though.

The way I look at it in your situation...GET and INSTALL the supercharger. Then, if the gears are too much exchange them. Since you are probably looking at putting in 3.73 ANYWAY, you should at least install the S/C and test it with the 4.10s while they're in. This way you might find that the 4.10s are fine.

Fun factor wise S/C + 4.10's =
Drag Racing wise you will want 3.73's.

I think its a matter of traction that everyone is concerned with for 4.10's and any power adder. I have nitrous, and everyone says dont get 4.10's cause of the traction. So if you want to just burn the tires off just throw some damn 4.30 in there...that will take care of it!

I dont think its so much the traction as it is what gear you will be finishing the traps in. Maybe somebody else with more knowledge can enlighten you better but I believe that is the reaosn most people stay away from 4.10's with S/C's.

Yea I hear that S/C with 4.10's you have to go into 5th with a stick and then 4th in an auto. which Kills your time Something along those lines!

4.10's are fine. You'll need 28 inch slicks.

VT Stage 2 port and polished heads = 2K
VT Stage 2 N/A cams = $600
Springs = $150
LT's = $500
TB & plenum = $400
O/R H-pipe & catback = $500
Chip = $300

That should put you above 300 rwhp.

N/A = Naturally Aspirated, meaning no supercharger, turbo, or nitrous.
