Can someone give me an idea of what kind of power I can get out of a 4.6 linc. motor.
I am doing a swap into my 55 ford and I have the motor and aod but want some extra power.
I know it has the hyperjunk pistions so a blower might be too much.
Also I have seen 4bbl intakes on these any info on that would be nice as well.
Any help would be nice.
Thanks Eddie

lincoln 4.6 motor are pretty good for bargain performance. unfortunately they don't have a forged crank like the cobra does. that's easily rectifiable though, lol. anyhow to get some extra performance out of the current setup without doing too much to it. get yourself a 96-98 cobra intake as that will help the flow much better than the current lincoln intake. the FR500 camshaft kit will help you out with power across the board without breaking the bank. true 1300 or 1500 buckos, forget how much it is, isn't cheap. then again you get 4 new camshafts, springs, locks, retainers, the whole nine yards with that kit. after that, it's pretty much standard mustang 4.6 mods, aka underdrive pulleys, etc. those are some starters for you though.
