4.6 engine w/ 5 speed in a '70

The biggest thing that the Mods have going against them is their sheer size. Bigger than a 460.Why deal with tight spaces for almost half the cubic inches? Another is the cost of performance parts $$$$$$$$$$$$$. Electronics? All you need is a crank trigger for it. Bolt on one of the modular performance intakes and you're ready to rock & roll. Don't get me wrong, I love the power and milage i get with my 06 Stang, but I dread the day the electronics go south on it.

so the cheaper and more fun to drive way would be an old 302 or 351 W or Cleveland?

yep, stick in a 351w based 393 stroker, rebuilt top loader 4spd, and 3.00 gears. you will have a torque monster that you dont need to rev to the moon to get power from, and everytime you nail the throttle it will set you back in your seat. keep your foot out of the throttle, and with the right carb, intake, cam, and exhaust combination you will also get decent mileage.
