What kind of fuel mileage are you stock, or lightly modded late model 4.6's? I have a friend looking into buying one, but the projected 17 mpg is a turnoff... Is this close or what?

If you drive like an ahole all the time your going to get crap for mileage.

If you dont you'll be getting some not so bad gas mileage

From the showroom in Baltimore to my house in NC I got 29 MPG.
With the Mods below, I can pull 22 MPG all day long around town and dip to about 20-21 if I do a little "spirited" driving.
On the Hwy, I pull around 25-26 MPG

I drive like an @$$ and still get 19 around town. I have all the bolt-on stuff and a SCT tune. I did notice better gas milage after the tune.

24.4 MPG with the mods listed in the sig. That was 100% highway at 80 mph. The only time I pushed the brake or gas was when I went on the acceleration ramp and when I exited to go to the gas station.

2003 GT gets about 16 to 17 MPG city and up to a whopping 27 MPG Hwy, purely stock. I tested it about 3 or 4 times.

18 in the city, 26 on the highway and that is with a little bit of spirited driving here and there. Car is completely stock except for the K&N and a Magnapack catback is going on tomorow.

I don't know all the MPG figures, but I get about 235 - 250 miles (on E). That is about 50/50 city/highway. Not too bad.

I get average 21-24mpg, on the highway, I got 30mpg and that was highway only at 110km/h, I get around 450-500km/tank in mixed driving, but when I step on it then its a little different, I got 350 once with it, but at the time I was only using it during the weekends so I was driving it pretty hard.

i'm pretty much stock and i don't drive it to save mileage . I get about 260 miles on about 13 gallons (~20-21mpg). my bf (stanglou) gets the same and he has pretty much every bolt-on and full exhaust. we both drive some highway and city. just hwy it's close to 23-25mpg.

On holidays this past summer, my G/F and I followed her parents out west, every time we stopped for gas, my Stang was 2-3 bucks cheaper to fill than her mom&dad's Concorde It made her dad cranky. On the way home I was driving 80mph and they followed behind us and when we stopped for fuel, my G/F's dad said he'd fill my tank and I was to fill his, b/c he said I must be cheating and not filling mine all the way up. This time the Stang was just under $8 bucks cheaper.

Around town I'm sure his would be better, but on the highway the Stangs are pretty good.

Edit: I live in Canada and gas is about $4.00 a gallon, so it seems like more of a mileage difference than there really was.

I average about 17-18 mpg in town, but that's with some "fun" driving thrown in. If i could stay out of it for a whole tank i'm sure it'd do better. With about 50/50 town-interstate ratio i got about 19-20 mpg.

My drive is 50/50 between highway and city. I've been tracking the '04 since I got it an have averaged around 20.5 mpg.
