drew_shipley: There is a little bit more to it then that. Not much..but a little bit more. If you are going to reuse your stock intake then you need some intake adaptor plates. We have some getting made now. But Other than that if you are wanting to keep it n/a then I would recomend getting some different cams. It will help out big time. If you ever have any tech questions feel free to Pm or call anytime. If you ever decide to do the swap you will love it.

i do want to add that the 4.6 manifold is better than the 5.4 unit, but it is low on plenum volume. if you can modify it for more volume it will work better. have fun.

Well I would be wanting to stay N/A, so I'm thinking about upping the compression (if I were to do this) to 10:1 or 10.5:1. I have a Bullitt so I do have the Bullitt Intake Manifold and I'd be having that ported. I also have a set of Patriot Performance Cams, 600 lift springs, titanium retainers, and seats sitting in my dining room. I'd also consider porting my heads as well.

So aside from the intake adaptor plates all I need is the 5.4 shortblock, a modded mid pipe, and a tune and I'm good to go? All the accessories bolt right up, all the wiring works, etc?

I think this would be an interesting thing to do, especially since I have a Bullitt. I might be the only Bullitt with a 5.4 and I'd be keeping the manifold and TB.

4.6 2v sohc

hello i'm new here and i am reading all the articles here, and i would like to know, why swop from a 2v 4.6 to 2v 5.4 their is rellativelly no power diffrence their is only 30hp diffrence between the 2. The trouble is not worth it. I would say put cams, heads, and the ford racing 2v sohc roots supercharger- blower.
