I recently reset the codes, drove the car for a day, and pulled the codes on my 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis and got these back:

KOEO

116
(O,R)
Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range - ECT

636
(O,R)
Transmission Oil Temperature (TOT) sensor out of range - Transmissions

Engine Running:

116
(O,R)
Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range - ECT

332
(R,M)
EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code did not open intermittantly - EVR or PFE

536
(O,R,M)
Brake On Off open or shorted to ground - BOO

632
(R)
E4OD - Transmission Control Switch (TCS) should be cycled once between engine ID and Goose test

I understand the 632 and the 332. For the 536 is that the brake on/off switch on the brake pedal? I recently replaced a faulty one and it works now but is the new one shorted maybe? Would that affect my ABS because the ABS light is on all the time. Lastly, the temperature out of range codes could that be because it was -10 degrees C when I tested this or is there another problem? (I did let it warm up for the engine running codes)

You'll need to check ohms on the sensor itself and the feed back to the computer where it plugs in at to make sure there isn't a break in the wire if the sensor checks out.

Do the EGR valves usually require replacement or do they just get gummed up with deposits?

Both. I usually replace because exhaust gasses are corrosive. Besides, they are difficult to clean and test.

Also, be sure to clean all of the passage ways through the TB. They frequently do get clogged with deposits.

I'm not sure. I'll have to look and see.
