Hey, I've had the common problem of the plastic manifold corroding and not sealing anymore. I've searched around and will do the aluminum crossover. I've seen a thread about pi and npi manifolds. What exactly are they, or what is the difference, and whats better? Is there a good place I can get them online? Sorry for the noob questions. Also it should just be a bolt on - strip all the lines/injectors/etc of the old and put on the new right?

Thanks!

The NPI manifold is what you have. The new ones you buy now will have the aluminum crossover to fix the coolant leak. When mine cracked, the Ford dealership priced me a new NPI manifold at $410. I said no thank you.

The PI manifold came on the 99-04 GTs. The 99 thru mid-01 did not have the aluminum crossover, where as the late-01 to 04 did. These will work on the NPI heads, you just need a little RTV to make sure it seals, along with a couple of other miscellaneous parts to convert to the PI. Search :SNSign: for more exact information on this swap. There are lots of write ups around.

As for price, I got a new PI manifold with all the parts needed for the swap from a shop called Custom Mustang of Florida for $300 shipped. I found them on ebay; look for their kit; it will include the manifold, coolant tube, alternator bracket, and gaskets. Or you can buy used and piece together a kit for $150ish. Make sure it has the aluminum crossover. I just felt more comfortable buying a new kit that already included everything I needed.

And the best part about the PI intake: 15 peak hp and closer to 25 hp up top.

I purchased this one brand new from Ebay. Awesome deal! Picked it up for $179.90. I have not seen it sell for less anywhere. Everything needed for a direct swap, is included. This one has the latest revised design with all integrared O ring seals already mounted on the intake with the aluminum cross over channel already mounted as well. No flat gaskets required. This is the item number for the one I purchased, check it out: Ebay Item: 220356319812. Good luck, Tommy.

just to let you know, Dorman does not service those o-rings separately, they also do not use the OEM Ford intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets.
