I'm building a new engine for my truck. Gonna order all new bottom end, block, forged parts, new PI heads, etc.

What I'm wanting to know is it better to build the Windsor or Romeo block?

Reason I'm asking is I haven't heard there is a big difference between them and for some reason the heads for a Romeo engine have a cheaper list price. Can anyone help?

Thank You.

I would go with the windsor although i don't think that there is much difference. I think the windsor has the 8 bolt crank like the cobra or something like that. someone please help me out. I don't think it matters go with the cheaper one....:)

Compression ratio for the Windors is just a tiny bit lower. But it doesn't matter if you're just talking the block, it can go any way depending on how you build it.

No GT's have had the forged 8-bolt Cobra crank. Actually, I'm not positive on the 6 or 8 bolt issue, but I know it wasn't the forged one.

Most Windsor Blocks Have An Eight Bolt Crank But It Is Not Forged. By The Way, I Am Also Rebuilding My Windsor Out Of My 99 Gt. Got A Novi 2000 Supercharger, Do I Need The Forged Rods As Well As The Pistons. I Make About 370 To The Wheels. I Am Debating Between The Dss Promod And Super Pro. Sorry For Steeling The Thread.
