Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a PI (I know what PI stands for...)intake manifold?

http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/...&Product_Code=M9424P46&Category_Code=46INTAKE

that is the best deal for PI intake......Anyone that pays $600 for a PI intake is a moron....a girl I work with paid $400 at ford for one.....she didn't believe me that its the same damn thing.....

I paid 75$ for my 99PI and if this one cracks I will probably take BOTH MY cracked intakes to Ford and throw them through their service department window if they don't fix it for free......

Forgive me for sounding stupid but how do you know that it is cracked? I just bought a 98 GT with 75000 miles on it and I noticed that the low coolant light came on after I drove away. I filled it up because it seemed low and soon after the light came on again and it was low again. I am understandig that it is the coolant runner that cracks? And if so is there a recall for this?

It's too bad that "plastic" gets a bad rap, there are tons of composites out there that are amazingly strong, light, and don't conduct heat.

ford is simply utilizing more advanced materials technology in order to save you some weight and help keep your engine running cooler.

600 for a cast alum. production manifold isn't *that* bad but, it would be a hell of a lot nicer if it were cheaper. Being able to port that thing would certainly be an improvement over stock.

And it's a hell of alot cheaper than a P-51 or a Bullitt conversion w/new parts.
I have just been pissed over the fact that Fox Lake has been promising their intake for over a year and they are just now releasing it for $1300.... At least the guys at HPS seem to be on a real timetable.
