4 bolt vs 2 bolt main

cool...thanks for the great info...I am just looking to keep this on and use it for a long time...didn't want to put too much into the motor and ruin it..

Could I go with a single focus pump now, or would I need to run a dual setup?

Will a single pump push enough for 400+rwhp?

Thanks!

How about exhaust...when you do need to go up to 3" pipes?
You'll need a cobra tank for twin 255's like focus pumps. A good operating 255 will more than support 400+rwhp - no worries there. Don't worry about exhausts too much man. My plans are to keep my stock crappy manifold and 2.5" slp X and maganpacks and have no worries about hitting my goals for my DD which are substantially higher than what you're aiming at. Just get some nice LT headers if they are legal where you are and run what ever you want after that. 2.5" would be fine.
You need to pick up some 39 or 42lb injectors as well.

And don't worry about longevity. Your stock shortblock could handle 400rwhp. The one you have now looks to be good to 8-900 all day.

Great, thanks again...I got some 42lb injectors with the Vortech..check..

will a 155 fuel pump cover 400+rwhp?

you are going to need atleast a 255lph pump or better yet an aeromotive fuel system , upgraded lines and possibly fuel rails , and a MAF that will support ALOT of power with boost along with a good tuner , your block is fine least of your worries , might wanna look at putting an 8 rib pulley system on it as well

255 is fine, aeromotive would be way overkill. Stock lines will be fine, rails are fine, are good to around 600rwhp. LMAF will be fine. Wont need an 8 rib kit.

This is all for the power amount he says he wants.

Great, thanks a ton! I was looking at an a1000 kit...but the installer said with a 98, the electrical on the pump is different and would require quite a bit to change that....so if a single 255 will work...I will go with that....I was looking at 2 focus pumps...but if I only need the one, and don't have the cobra tank...no need...

the 155 I have is a holley pump...

Thanks again!

Yeah, you definitely don't need more than a 255.
