I'm looking at getting a 4 banger stang for better gas mileage, since I'm expecting gas to hit $4 over the summer.

Does anyone know what kind of gasmileage a 4 cyl. gets? Thanks.

I usually get 20 mpg in town. Last time I did a lot of highway driving I would get 30 mpg. Sticker states 22/29 pretty sure. Mine is an automatic too, stick is usually better on gas.

ha i'm thinking about the same thing. i'd love to get a cheap 4 cyl (with a black interior!!) that i didn't care how it looked, and be able to strip anything i needed off it, but still be able to drive it around....

Mine got low 20s around town and combined, and middle to upper 20s on the highway. Decent but nothing great. Think it got 30 mpg once.

Gets slightly better than my 5.0 on the highway.

if you baby your 5.0 it will get roughly the same mileage as the 4cyl and by the time you figure in the cost of a new car and insurance for it, you really arent that far ahead.

+1 I had an '87 LX 4 cyl 5spd car that struggled to get the same gas mileage as my 5.0(as long as I kept my foot out of it). My brother is driving it now but he's getting rid of it in the spring for something else. They just don't get that great mileage.
