4 Eyed Help! Car wont start!!!!

I was changing the starter solonoid, and couldnt find the exact one i had since i know that it wasnt made for my car. I found one at Advance thats for an 88 thats fender mounted and the bigger round one, not the flat one. Well i put the round one on and nothing, then i got the flat one, and nothing. I have power coming from the battery to the solonoid, but it wont start.

I can start the car without the clutch.

Yes you could with your old relay on the fender but the new one you bought probably needs the small center post hooked up to allow the car to start.

try something for me. turn your ignition on. then jump with a screw driver between the 2 posts (large posts) on the relay. make sure your car is in neutral please. If it fires up or atleast spins the starter then it is the clutch safety switch that needs to be hooked up.

I tried that yesterday, and got nothing. I tried jumping it from the side my battery comes from to the start. Nothing, the starter makes no noise. I was thinking that maybe my MSD box went, but that shouldnt make a difference with no noise coming out of the starter.
