I was going to build a 347 and keep my EFI with a pro charger (already been done by everone) but I was curious to see if anyone would say go with an EFI setup with a 408W. I am leaning twords a carb, for the reasons I think it will be faster and less hassel to set up. Can anyone convince me otherwise. I have a systemax II intake now and I don't think they make a lower mani for a 351. I believe only GT40, Edelbrock and Trickflow off hand makes it. I think Fuel Injection just looks hot under the hood especially with a 351. Its not everyday you see that. Unless you got those Saleens. ;-)

well that really depends on what your gonna use it for, and what kinda cash flow you wanna put into it. Im sure thats what everyone else would say too. Im in the process of putting a 351W in my 90 notchback, and im going carbed. Ill drive it a few times a week, and cruise on the weekends with some track time now and then. But i also like old school, and everything is easy as hell to fix, or should i say diagnose. I have just had stupid problems with EFI in my notch, and in my 89 LX i had a few years ago. ANd its only an OBD1 computer system, so even a diagnostic machine cant always give you a good code when there is a problem. I know a guy that has an EFI 351W in a notch, and another guy who had an EFI 347 with a pro charger and a 150 shot of juice on it, and they both told me already if they could go back and do it again they wouldnt have went with EFI, it just cost to much money. BUt these cars were just weekend warriors. But i am assuming that with a 408 you wont be driving it everyday! haha. ITs just personal preferance, i grew up working on old muscle cars, im 25 now, but thats just what i learned on, and grew to like. I just thought i would give ya my $.02, hope i could help ya a little. good luck

^^^My ears are burning.

Double check that Holley doesn't have a 351w lower. They may not advertise it as heavily as the 302 products, so it may be tougher to find.

I have fair amount of info on the 351w swap on my site, but I can't pull it up from work. It is on the 351w swap page.

I prefer EFI over carb, for drivability etc. All the 302 EFI stuff will swap over to a 351w.

I've been very happy with my 408w.

I like my carb's 351w. I don't drive it year round so it works for me. In the cold the carb'd engines are a pain.
