4r70 transmission

Anybody out there using a 4r70 transmission? will it fit in my 66 mustang with out cutting the tunnel?

Yes, I'm using that transmission in my '70, and did so without any tunnel work.

There is an article where another person installed it into his '65 convertible wtihout any cutting:

Project Overdrive

Thanks for the link. are you happy with that trans? im going to be making alot of power and i heard if i didnt have a overdrive ill be at 3000rpm on the freeway.

Yep, completely happy with it; there are ways to make it stronger, too; places like clickclickracing.com has information, the Thunderbird and Cougar Club of America (TCCoA) have a lot of info in their tech sections, and a guy who regularly posts in both built a custom converter for me--dirtyd0g.

Go to either place for more info on the transmission itself, and between those forums and the link I provided earlier, I think you should be able to figure out what you need for your application.
