4R70W fit in my 94?

I found a really good deal on a 4R70W out of a 2002 GT and i was wondering if it will fit on my 94 gt vert. If it will what else would i have to do??? and how much will it cost?

I don't think it will work, i think it will only bolt up to a 4.6 which the bolt holes are different from a 5.0.

it wont bolt up, the 4.6 and 5.0 have different bellhousing patterns

You need to find one from a 3.8.

Arsonstang, IIRC the only difference between the 2002 4R70W and your AODE is the 4R70W has a wider ratio planetary gearset (which you can upgrade the AODE with) and a mechanical diode which you can upgrade to as well.

doesnt change the fact that there is a different bellhousing, making it not able to be bolted up without an adapter plate.

Right, I was just pointing out to Arsonstang that he had the option of upgrading his AODE too, as well as swapping it out.

yea, pretty much useless for your application, unless you have an adapter plate or such, fabricated to adapt the 4.6 bellhousing to the 5.0.

dump all your aode stuff out and stuff it with the 4r stuff.

I agree....AODE is junk compared to 4R....find a 4R from a 3.8 or 4.0 vehical. Then buy the Buemann TCS computer (or tothers) to control it better - oh, and do the J mod for good measure.

must be some way to do it, my explorer has an 4R70W and it's a 5.0

The 3.8 and 5.0 are the same bellhousing bolt pateren.

talked to a trans specialist. The tech said that it might be my trans sensor going out... anyone heard of this before?
