Today I put a pa street strip valvebody in the car. I did it with the help of the directions and the installation video on the pa website. The problem is when I put the throttle to the floor from a dead stop The car feels like it's starting in 2nd gear. But if I'm moving and I put the hammer down it downshifts and it moves just fine. Could this be caused by the tv cable out of adjustment?

Yes. Work with it some. Loosen the nut and while under the car keep messing with it. When i installed mine with the B&M Hammer Shifter it did the same

It is very easy to put the fork into the wrong spot on the manual valve. Is the transmission in Park when the shifter is in P? If you shift it in to 1, is it in 1? Similarly, if you shift it into 2, is it in 2? Start the car and shift into each gear and you will feel whether it is in the correct gear. I know it's messy but I suggest that you drop the pan, check it, and then you can rule it out as a possible problem. And check the torque of the v/b bolts. They can back out and this will cause some shifting sloppiness (or other problems) as the fluid goes where it is not supposed to go.

HTH,

Chris

Everything is working great now. I guess the fluid had to run through the valve body. We did have to add 12 quarts to get some to show on the dip stick. Thats what i get for putting a deep pan on it. It shifts hard from 1-2 gear. Thanks for the help guys.

DAKDOG99:

Thanks for the update. Sorry that I overlooked checking the level as a first step. DOH!

Cheers,
