the hardcore50 site came back up, and i started lurking on there ... and i came across a guy (eric fischer) who has a 418 in a fox body with a 4R70W from a 2003 v6 that bolts right up to his 351. and he is using a 1995 computer to control it. his car runs 10.69 in the 1/4, and he has made 60 passes on that tranny. that got me thinking ...

Eric is not your average run of the mill gear-head kinda guy

He is pretty sharp and has tendencies to not follow the crowd.
An out of the box thinkin fellow ... if you're followin me.

He was one of the guys around the late 90's on the old Yahoo
EEC Tuning site when there was VERY little known about any
PCM ... much less ... our 94-95's

Back then everybody ........
and
I mean EVERYBODY ... said things about 94-95 PCM's like:

They are just worthless
The Cobra j4j1 is an absolute piece of ****
and
Out of all the 94-95 PCM's ... its the worst
They won't take a tune
If you got a 94 or 95 Just replace it with an A9L
and
The poo poo list about CBAZA PCM's could go ... on and on

So ... Do you see the masses way of thinking ... back then

What does Eric do ................

He puts one of our PCM's in his Fox

His motivation for doing that

He discovered a way to datalog using some kind of after market
device he found. Turns out ... it would work with our PCM's but
not with the Foxes.

Having said that ... I got a sneekin suspicion he has one or more
tricks up his sleeve with his current combo based upon things I've
seen in the past with him

Just letting you know ... He is a sharp cookie
and
Duplicating his efforts could be a ... Tall Order

After all ... Everybody in this hobby shares 100% of the details
or info about their efforts with their combos ... Right

I mean ... Surely ... Nobody would hold back a tid bit or two
to give them a leg up on the next guy ... Would They

Either way, with that 410 in BV's engine bay...lol...it's going to fly. I am looking forward to seeing how he likes it! 11's no problemo with the right technique.

Reminds me of my LT1 auto. Consistent fast and FUN car. I loved it! It was an auto but it had LOTS of low end TQ that put it right next to the 6 speeds and passing them more often than not b/c of "consistency!" :SNSign:

Can the 5.0 flexplate and 3.8 TC be used? I ask because the 3.8 stall will probably stall alittle higher than it would in the 3.8 since the 5.0 has more torque.

Do you have to change the ECU? I need to checkout those sites you listed above. I think I may do this swap instead of swapping in a T5. Funny that the 3.8 tranny is better than ours. Makes me sad.

Fairly sure BV has a tweecerR/T still to work out any PCM to auto issues.

If I was going auto...the 4r would be the way I would do it. The best auto IMHO with OD in fairly stock from we can use.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and order a Tweecer before I do anything else. Probably need to go ahead and get a wideband O2 also. I have some driveability issues a tweecer could probably help with.

Plus I have heard guys say their AODE issues have been solved with tweecers also.
