Can I use the factory stall convertor that comes with a 4R70W. Found out I could get one from a jy with convertor for $200. Also can my shifter?

the stock convertor doesn't work with a 4R70W

the shifter should work

how sure are you about this?

i was not aware the flexplate was different for a 4R70W

when i went from a 4R70W to an AOD, i didn't need to get a different flexplate. if it needed a different flexplate, my mechanic would have told me. he didn't say anything about it, and he didn't charge me for a new flexplate, so i'm confident it didn't need to be changed

so i would be surprised if the AODE, the tranny between the AOD and the 4R70W, takes a different flexplate than the other 2

I am assuming you are going from a AODE to a 4R70W if thats true you can use your stock aode flywheel with the stock 4R converter. Just swap all the electronics and wire wires inside the trans. Also swap the tail housing and you will need to get a chip you want to get a 4r from an 00 to 02 V6 and makes sure it has the gears cut on the tail shaft for the speed o.

I did this swap with my car and everything hads worked fine. Let me know if you need any more info
