will this set up fit under the stock hood? if anyone knows FOR SURE (not just guessing) i would appreciate some feedback. thanks!

The 4v 4.6 is the same height as the 2v. It is the 5.4 that is taller.

No. The 2.2 is a little taller than the 1.7..
I'm thinking about modifying my stock hood to accept the 2.2

the 2.2L KB kit for the GT (2V) needs an aftermarket hood.
the 2.2L KB for the cobra (4V) fits 03/04 cobras with their oem hood. but again it's a different one than the GT so I would say yes u need an aftermarket hood.

So would the 2.2 fit under the 2000 cobra R hood on a GT? Just wondering because I want to get both.

I remember hearing Tim say that the 2.2L will NOT fit under the stock hood

it will fit wont it? i have the r hood on and that thing is a beast lol. seriously, that hood looks sweet, i would think you should have enough clearance.
