I'm putting a 5.0 from a 99 explorer in my 69 mustang. I want to upgrade the engine. What cam would you guys recommend? I read about the E303 and TFS 1 is anyone running either of these? I'm looking for that cool idle sound. I know the valve springs will need an upgrade any other suggestions? Would it make any sense to change to 1.6 rockers without changing the cam? By the way I'm taking the fuel injection off and will be running a carb. I have the gt40P heads so headers will be a problem but I will probably end up with Macs. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the TFS1 cam. it's got a definite lope at idle and is a great performer. personally I think it's better than the alphabet cams, but honestly the stock H.O cam makes great power in the explorer motor

I have run both the TFS 1, and the E . The e cam pulls harder than the tfs. But doesn't have the lope. And I ran the same set of 1.7RR on both cams.

I'M RUNNING THE F303 CAM AND IT SOUNDS GREAT AT IDLE. ALOT OF LOPE BUT POWER BAND IS 2800- 6500 RPM BUT I TEAR MY FRIEND UP IN HIGHER RPM WHERE HIS E303 DOESN'T GET IT DONE.

Get an adjustable timing gear set and set the E-CAM straight up and then advance it 4*, it will lope then and out perform the TFS cam to boot.

I swap the b for the e thats in my car now. The b cam didn't make no power at all.

I've done a bit more to mine to make upper RPM power.

Ive had both the e303 and the tfs1 cam and I'd say they both perform great with the e303 pulling a little harder but as far as sound goes, the tfs1 is a bit choppier probably because of the split duration

Here's a clip of my 87 GT with a tfs1 cam, OR Hpipe and mac produmps
