Okay, I got the 5.0 engine and AOD trans with all the computer, sensors, electrical, lines, linkages, including the dash gauges and whatever other parts was ever connected to the engine and trans, these were all laid over on top of the engine. So, I'm sure that I have EVERYTHING that I need. BUT, what else do I really need.

I'm trying to set up a parts list, a picture file of procedure to follow, and some tech articles files to help me walk through it.

If anyone has done a similar swap I would really appreciate hearing from you. If you can provide some links to tech references on the swap, I would be eternally grateful. If you know of a link to some pictures of this swap as it happened that would be fantastic. ( you know, a picture is worth a 1000 words!)

I would like to collect the information, study it and get it straight in my mind how I'm going to approach it, and then start on the swap through the Winter. I'm open to suggestions. Please feel free to add your posts or emails to this topic as I feel we could all learn from it. Thanks in advance for your help.

been there done that to a 70 fast back - love it love it love it!!!!!!! You will need tons of stuff - original 302 oil pan and oil pickup, reposition dipstick, trans mount, jba shorty headers to go around steering box, reposition the battery (trunk or opposite side) oxygen sensor bungs to go in pipe 3 inches after header flange, VSS, VSS speedo cable for a classic, clutch cable conversion kit or hydraulic set up, high pressure electric inline fuel pump, high pressure fuel lines, cut drive shaft (I used aluminum one from an Aerostar) Cannister Purge bypass diode, Thermactor bypass diode, and lots of other stuff I have forgotten - You will want to buy most of your stuff from a known good source at one time to save on shipping and maybe get a price break - I used a lot of Ron Morris stuff - he is honest, will talk to you on the phone, his stuff works as expected, etc... and you will want to look at a few web sites like www.fordfuelinjection.com -- Ron Morris site is www.ronmorrisperformance.com If you plan on airconditioning like I did - Classic Auto Air is the way to go. They will talk to you on the phone and they have what you need. Good luck - it is a long expensive process but well worth it in the end
