I just purchased a 1966 Mustang (my first ever) with a 302 swap. Its runs great but it needs some "short cuts" undone. The dipstick has been cut short, so no oil even touches it (I changed it yesterday, using 5 quarts), lots of wires and hoses tie-wrapped to whatever is close, little things like that. I am told the block came from a 91 5.0 GT, but everything is upgraded or retro-fitted. Is there an ID plate of some sort on the engine that would tell me the motor info? Can you tell by looking at the engines what generation it's from? Incase it helps, here is the current setup as I know it...the power steering pump is original to the 66 (hacked mount, changed over to serpentine belt) the alternator is from an 02, the heads are from AFR, the carb is a Holly 4bbl double pumper, it has an e303 cam, electric fuel pump, and lots of chromed stuff (oil pan, h2o pump, breathers, ect). Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry if this has been discussed already (I did search first).
