I was looking for a project car for drag racing and want it to be street leagle. I was wondering which engine would be best to get lots of horsepower but not add much weight or is the engine capable of making plenty of horsepower itself. I was wanting to get about 350 - 400 horsepower and then nitros inject it what do you think is this possible can the stock 5 speed handel this can the differential if this has already been asked let me know where i could find it if you could. i have looked on these post and haven't found what i am asking. What compression ratio would be best I was thinking 11to 1 or 12 to one. I have heard high compression engine are naturas for nirtos.
Thanks

those dss motors are real nice and strong. The add is usually in the back of the muscle mustang fast fords mags. And as for the tranny and rear diff they should be fine. I have 423 at the wheels in my cobra and my t-5 is going real strong and rear diff is good too, just make sure you keep up on fluid changes and dont rag on the t-5 so much until you can afford something better....like a tremec 3550 or tko. Good luck :nice:
