I just cranked the 5.0 EFI that I put in my '65 vert. Starts fine, runs extremely rough. Spatters on my garage floor look like unburned fuel coming out exhaust. I've checked plugs (new platinum tip), new plug wires, rotor, cap and coil. Injectors all check out operationally, put a backup computer in. No help on any of the changes. The engine has been sitting idle for several years while I rebuilt the car, but I put MM oil in the sparkplug holes to keep it lubed while sitting.
Flowmaster headers, Thrush mufflers, all check out. Any ideas, guys? I would hate to have to tear down the motor. I'm thinking maybe stuck rings - anybody have experience with freeing that up? Without engine overhaul, that is.
