How hard is it to do a 5.0 swap to a 99-04 gt. What all is needed. I wanna build a nasty 347 stroker. and ditch the 4.6 i already have a t56 Transmission i know i would need a different bell housing.
Maximum motorsports sells a k-member with the correct motor mount locations. You will have to swap the wiring harness and computer. Or you could go with a carb and msd ignition and all youd need is the k member.
i could build a 347 that puts out as much as a supercharged 4.6 Im doing all the labor myself. I was gonna use a 94-95 block. Bored to a 347, 5.0 parts are way cheaper than 4.6 parts also
OK, since we're talking about oddball swaps...The 5.0 will put a lot of iron over the front end on a car that already has a tendencie to push through corners, so.. since you're gonna have to jerk everything around to make this work, why not put in an LS2?, it's lighter, makes 400hp stock, and the car will handle better. I've been looking at this swap for awhile, and it's doable.
