this is my first time posting. im having a couple issues with my car.

1. seems to backfire once in a while from somewhere around the engine bay, while on the gas at low rpms.

2. takes longer to start when engine is running or driven for over 30 minutes, cranks for a couple seconds then starts, but if i let go of the key while cranking and then try to start again it wont start. sometimes it seems as the starter cranks very slow as if it had lack of power.

3. and finally my coolant keeps dissapearing, might be because the resorvoir is cracked, but doesnt seem to leak, also the water always seem to be rusted i was told it could be the chrome stainless instead of a hose, so i flush the water fill it up and the about a day later its orange and starts dissapearing.

i would really appreciate any help anyone can bring and would like to give thanx in advance.

back firing could mean you need a tune up...back firing thru intake....the starter problem could be starter related, charging system related or overheating you can have the charging system tested free at any local autoparts store and you can remove the starter and test it too free. losing water is not good especially if theres no signs of a leak check motor bay good for leaks especially on the under side of the water pump and water neck sometimes leaks evaporate before they drip on to the ground in that case you will see a white flow marks or drip mark on the steel surfaces also could mean signs of internal leaks head gasket intake gasket or cracks look under your oil cap and see if you see a white foam substance and look at oil and see if it looks like chocolate milk.... do you use antifreeze rust is not good in a cooling system.... and fix the reservoir with some rubber sealant or get a new one to rule out loosing coolant at this area....goodluck post results so we can help you further...

2. Sounds like possibly a failing TFI module(the gray rectangle on the distributor). Many times they stop working when they get hot and function again after the engine cools. If it won't start simply because of not cranking fast enough, then it could be a weak starter or bad connections

3. You're putting antifreeze in it too, right? Your stainless flex hose isn't the problem. Stainless generally doesn't rust; your iron block and cylinder heads will if you only use water.

well i replaced the tfi module about 2 months ago, and my running tempretures are around 180 but start climing a bit after about an hour of cruisin, the oil looks normal, car runns really good except for those small problems, could it be the maf sensor because it looks like it was custom made for the 24# injectors it has ( 24# inj 70mm mac) etched on top of it. havent had time to check for evaporated water yet but ill get around to it and post back, and thanx for the help.
